Cleaning Cat uses iRobot Roomba 560 Robotic Vacuum Cleaner. (by texasgirly1979)
Now that ComicCon is upon us, it’s time to revisit: The Evolution of the Geek!
Kitty is licking something and really enjoying it… It’s just a shame that none of us can see what it is!
I’ve been getting rid of stuff left and right. It feels so good!! Since I’m declutter mode this article caught my eye. They actually hit on some items I haven’t ditched yet, but need to.
VHS Tapes
Just because I room for them in the back of the cabinet doesn’t mean they’re ever going to do me any good. I won’t be converting any to DVD at $20 bucks a pop, but these things have got to go. I think the barrier that keeps us from tossing stuff like this is remembering all the money you once put into them! Imagine your whole DVD collection becoming obsolete :(
Pillows
The old ones, past 2 or 3 years, get unhealthy. Eww.
Makeup
Yuck! Yes! Toss out that nasty old mascara. It’s full of germs, dust, it’s crusty, it doesn’t work well anymore! Anything like powder, blush, or concealer that has a puff applicator - that’s got a bunch of bacteria and oils from your skin. Replace the whole compact, or at least just applicator. Those little puffs are easy to pick up in a 3 pack at any Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid etc.
Paint
Hmm, I’ve got some opened cans sitting outside. That can’t be good.
Bras
I finally figured out my true size! Now I know why I hate all those other bras. Time to get rid of them.
Besides what the article mentions, I’ve been riding my home of these items: Old books, home decor items that have grown out of my style, clothes that don’t fit or that I never wear, Crafts projects I started but know I’ll never finish, old speaker set that doesn’t work, Boxes I was collecting “in case I needed them” etc etc.
I feels great to lighten the load. It’s amazing how much stuff was can amass over the years. Even when I moved out of a room an apartment I shocked at how much I had fit into that little closet!
So go for it! - “But I might use it someday…” If you haven’t touch it for more than a year it’s time to toss it or stop by the local thrift store and make a donation :)
